Made interesting read.

1) "end-users and the developers are not “co-located”"
so In effect what you are trying to say is that for each project a client's representative should colocated in the developers office. I'm sure that will solve many problems but really I'm not sure whether that is possible for every project and client.

2) "reminds us that software defects are strongly correlated to the number of “lines of communication” between the developers on the team;"

If the developers maintain standard practises and if the web developers split a bigger project into plausable smaller modules then I'm not sure whether the above rule applies here. I'm reminded of an age old aptitude question. If 4 persons take 10 days to complete a building , how many days will 40 persons take to complete the same task ? The answer definitely is not "1 day" but not "10 days either" !

I agree, Michael\'s presentation was insightful and provocative. While the evidence consisted of only a few projects, it was definitely eye-opening.
