I’ve added a few new links to my Web 2.0 mind-map. You can find it in the “downloads” section of my main web site at www.yourdon.com/downloads, or you can simply download the 7.1-megabyte PDF by clicking here.
Here’s a summary of what I’ve added to this version:
- On the “Risks” branch of the “Wiki phenomenon” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a new, unadorned sub-branch identifying “privacy” as a risk associated with wikis — i.e., the possibility that wiki collaborators might incorporate sensitive or confidential information that should not have been disclosed..
- Also on the “Risks” branch of the “Wiki phenomenon” page, I’ve added a new sub-branch titled “Censorship,” with a link to a recent blog posting by Tim Bray, a Sun Microsystems employee, that contains a four-letter word — an event that has set off a fire-storm of debate and controversy about whether it should be removed and whether Mr. Bray should be censured, censored, fired, crucified, tarred and feathered, slapped on the wrist, congratulated, or ignored.
- On the “web sites” sub-branch of the “Ajax” branch, on the “Technology” page of the mind-map, I discovered that a sub-sub-branch labeled “Sites Using Ajax” had a broken link. I’ve fixed it, and the new hyperlink is here.
- On the “Examples” sub-branch of the “Ajax” branch, on the “Technology” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a new link to an October 23rd Infoworld article entitled “Microsoft moves on AJAX,” which discusses Microsoft’s release of a beta version of its AJAX technology, known as Microsoft ASP.Net AJAX v1.0.
That’s all I’ve got time for now. More later…
