I’ve added some new links to interesting articles, analyses, guidelines, and other resources to my Web 2.0 mind-map. You can find it in the “downloads” section of my main web site at www.yourdon.com/downloads, or you can simply download the 7.1-megabyte PDF by clicking here.

Here’s a summary of what I’ve added to this version:

  1. On the “Websites and Blogs” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a link to the Two-Point Touch blog.
  2. On the “Websites and Blogs” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a link to David Weinberger’s JOHO blog.
  3. On the “Websites and Blogs” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a link to Stowe Boyd’s /Message blog.
  4. On the “Websites and Blogs” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a link to the elusa: Knowledge Management blog.
  5. I’ve created a new sub-branch with a link to an October 14, 2006 article in the New York Times in which Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer discusses the importance of “communities” in the future of computers; this appears in the “Intro” page of the mind-map, in the “society” sub-branch of the “profound business, social, technology” branch.
  6. I’ve added a new sub-branch, with a link to an IBM article about the importance of collaboration and business-oriented social networks. This appears on the “Enterprise 2.0″ page of the mind-map, in the “Reactions and Trends Within Large Companies” branch.
  7. I’ve added a link to Google’s page describing its new “documents and spreadsheets” service. This appears on the “Products and Services” page of the mind-map, in the Google sub-branch of the “Big Vendors” branch.
  8. On the same Google sub-branch of the “Products and Vendors” page, I’ve added a new link to John Jurvet’s Flickr page showing a whiteboard drawing of Google’s purported “Master Plan.” It’s pretty funny, and I’m sure it was intended as a spoof; a more recent blog posting (which I can’t seem to find now) indicates that the whiteboard drawing, located somewhere deep within the Googleplex, has been erase.
  9. On the “Articles” page of the mind-map, I’ve added a new link to the forthcoming October 2006 issue of the Cutter IT Journal, titled “Deriving Business Value from Web 2.0.”

That’s all I’ve got time for now. More later…
