For the past few weeks, I’ve been playing around with Web 2.0-related stuff on an experimental blog-site that I set up on my Apple .Mac account. But I’ve now got a better idea of I want to do, so I’m going to start moving things back over here; you’ll see more and more details emerge over the next couple of weeks. (8/1: I’ve deleted version v010, and replaced it with version v016, which you can download here.)
I’m organizing my thoughts and ideas about Web 2.0 in the form of a mind-map; if you’re not familiar with mind-maps, take a look at my April 25th posting, “Sayonara Powerpoint.” The actual mind-map was created, and is being expanded and refined, with a software product called ConceptDraw; but I’ve exported a PDF version of the mind-map and uploaded it to my web site. You can download the current version, Version 010, by clicking here; be aware that it’s approximately 3 MB, so it’s a good idea to have something faster than a dial-up Internet connection.
If you’ve been following my progress on my .Mac blog-site (the URL of which I’m not going to bother sharing any more, since I’m planning to phase it out), here’s what I’ve added to the current version of the mind-map:
- some items about the “reputation economy” and “democratizing innovation” on the “basic themes” page.
- a place-holder for some details that I’ll be adding about Django at some point in the future.
- Links to a couple recent articles about Web 2.0 stuff in the “articles” subsection of the “references” page.
There will eventually be a lot more “resource” information about Web 2.0 stuff here on this blog — i.e., recommended books, websites, interesting people, etc. Stay tuned…
